Maternity Action has prepared a toolkit for employers on managing pregnant women and new parents at work. The toolkit was commissioned by the Equality and Human Rights Commision and is available on the Commission's
website. It includes quick checklists for employers, model policies which can be downloaded and customised for individual
businesses, and detailed information about how to negotiate maternity leave and pay, leave and pay for fathers, adoption leave
and pay, health and safety at work, rights during maternity leave and on return to work. The toolkit was roadtested
with employers in England, Scotland and Wales and includes examples of how individual businesses are managing employees who
are pregnant or new parents.
