challenging inequality : promoting wellbeing

Maternity Action works to end inequality and promote the health and well-being of all pregnant women, their partners and children from before conception through to the child's early years.

Maternity Action was established in 2008 and will take forward the work of Maternity Alliance and The Reaching Out Project, Medact.

News and events
We are updating the Equalities and Human Rights Commission toolkit for employers on managing pregnant women and new parents at work.  We are keen to showcase examples of good practice.  If you know of a small or medium-sized business which provides a family-friendly working environment, please let us know.

See our new factsheets for information on employment rights, tax credits and benefits.

Maternity Action, Royal College of Midwives and Unison held a successful fringe event at the Labour Party Conference in Manchester: 'Right from the start: tackling health inequalities at birth'.
