Breastfeeding in public places
The new Equality Bill  says that it is sex discrimination to treat a woman unfavourably because she is breastfeeding. It applies to anyone providing services, benefits, facilities and premises to the public, public bodies, further and higher education bodies and associations. This information sheet gives more information about where this legislation applies, who it applies to and what to do if you are discriminated against because you are breastfeeding in a public place.

Can you help?
We want to make sure that copies of this new poster raising awareness about your rights at work if you are pregnant are displayed all across England.
If you know a community centre, antenatal clinic, health centre, children's centre, or any other venue where pregnant women and new mothers would see this information then let us know! We are sending out small packs of posters to anyone who can help by putting up a few in their local area. Contact us to get involved.
