Your maternity rights vary according to your immigration status and this can be very confusing. These information sheets outline your entitlements to NHS maternity care, benefits, tax credits and employment rights according to your status.  The information sheet, Which information sheet to use, explains the different forms of immigration status.

Information sheets for:

Asylum seekers:
Women who have submitted a claim for asylum which has not been determined, or who have submitted an appeal or a fresh claim which has not been determined.

Download 'Asylum seekers'

Refugees:
Women whose claim for asylum has been accepted and who have refugee status.

Download 'Refugees'

Refused (failed) asylum seekers:
Women whose asylum claim and any subsequent appeals have been refused.

Download 'Refused asylum seekers'

Trafficked women
Women who have been trafficked into the UK

Download 'Trafficked women'
